I'm Leon Steenkamp — a journalist, photographer, and multimedia content producer based in Cape Town. I started my career in community newspapers, where you learn fast that a story either connects with real people or it doesn't. There's no room for content that just looks good.
That instinct shapes everything I do for businesses today.
Over two decades I've worked as a journalist and photographer for community newspapers across the Western Cape — Ons Kontrei, Paarl Post, and Tygerburger — covering everything from politics and sport to human interest and breaking news. I wrote the articles and shot the photos, often on the same day, under deadline.
In 2013 I joined the Bible Society of South Africa as a multimedia journalist and copywriter, where I've spent over a decade producing photography, video, written content, and podcasts for fundraising campaigns, donor acquisition, and sales. Content that doesn't just look professional — content that has to perform.
